What Earl is
Earl is an AI web developer. The best way anyone has ever had a website made is to have a good web developer of their own: you tell them what you want, they ask questions until they understand it, and they build it as clean, secure code. Afterwards you ask for changes, and you see each one before it goes live. Earl works the same way, in plain English, for every small business that could never afford to keep a developer on call.
Earl is not an AI add-on for a content management system. Other AI website builders put a chat box on top of an editor, panels, settings and plugins. Earl takes those away. What is left is talking to Earl, pointing at the page, and saying yes. You never have to learn a tool.
He rebuilds the site you already have
Give Earl your website’s address and he reads it straight off the web and rebuilds it in clean code, as close to how it looks now as he can. The aim is that you look at the rebuild and see your own site, only faster and easier to keep. He measures your old homepage and the new one on a phone and shows you the difference.
No site yet? He asks a few quick questions, about 5 minutes, and builds a new one from your answers.
What he is good at
- Fast, accessible pages that work on every phone.
- Plain HTML and CSS, with no database and no plugins to keep up to date.
- Building what you ask for, faithfully. If a request is unclear, he asks one or two short questions first.
What he won’t do
- He is not a marketer. He builds what you ask for, faithfully, and does not tell you what to say or sell, or promise visitors, leads or sales.
- He builds fast, simple sites. A store with a cart and checkout, or a members’ area people sign in to, needs a server, so he says so up front and tells you what people usually do instead.
- He never publishes anything without your yes.
You stay in charge
- Every change is a preview you approve. Nothing reaches your site without a yes, and a live change can be undone.
- Earl’s changes are written by an AI model, and they can be wrong. That is why you see each one first.
- Your site is yours: the code Earl writes for it is yours as soon as it is written. You can take a copy and host it anywhere (see the FAQ).
